Masada Celebrates 35-Year Milestone and Moves Boldly Into Its Next Chapter

Masada Community Mental Health Services 35 years of service.

Masada has a lot to celebrate! For 35 years, Masada has made a positive difference in the lives of more than 30,000 individuals in Los Angeles County’s most underserved communities.

“We are proud of our impact thus far. However, rapidly escalating demands necessitate that we do more,” stated Jim Wind, Masada’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our Board of Directors and Leadership Team developed a multi-year strategic plan that calls for Masada to expand our programs to reach thousands more children, youth, and families across the Southland.”

The strategic plan also set into motion a branding and communications update to better convey who Masada is today and how we help children, youth, families, individuals, and communities.

Masada engaged the 2B Communications & Strategy Group to conduct a comprehensive rebranding initiative, which included listening to internal and external stakeholders and engaging Masada’s board and staff in the process.

Masada’s new logo reflects diversity, synchronicity, and community. A new “Community Mental Health Services” descriptor line replaces “Masada Homes,” nomenclature tied to Masada’s 1989 roots when the agency first opened as a group home for at-risk youth.

“Although we’ve updated our brand identity, what has not changed at Masada is our steadfast focus on empowering individual and community well-being,” Wind continued, “And our commitment to working hand-in-hand with Los Angeles County and other public and private sector partners to lead the way in responding to changing needs in our communities.”
