🥳 Masada Holiday Celebrations 2022

admin holiday celebration image

The Administrative Services Department held their holiday celebration at El Pescador Bar & Grill, Carson on December 6th. And Khai shared a lovely message for his team:

Can’t think of a nicer or better way to start off the holidays than celebrating with our team of Support Specialists who not only know how to work hard but “party hard” as well. COVID or not, it’s always been a challenge getting all the SS together in person in one place due to office coverage issues so a special thanks to Ceci Lopez from our RMD Dept and all the Supervisors, Managers and Directors for making this possible.

It was great seeing our wonderful Support Specialists relax and enjoy themselves. Another special thanks to SS supervisors, Alex and Cynthia, who organized the event and facilitated all the fun games like the Saran Wrap game, Christmas bingo, Christmas movies, Christmas unscramble words and cookie challenge games. Vanessa Angulo won our coveted prize for “most festive” attire. I am so appreciative of our Support Specialists and all they do for EVERYONE day in and day out all year round. The only “Grinch” at our holiday celebration was time.

On behalf of our  Administrative Services Department, we wish everyone a Happy Holidays and an even better 2023 New Year!!! Please stay safe and healthy.

Lancaster OP, Wrap, TBS Holiday Party picture

The Lancaster Outpatient, Wrap, and TBS had a merry time celebrating the holidays on December 12th with a luncheon at Gino’s Italian Restaurant. After a hearty meal of pasta, the teams headed back to the office to celebrate with more games and treats.

The festivities included a scavenger hunt game of what was on their phone to obtain points, white elephant, saran wrap ball game, and raffles. The gift giving cheer was shared all around with presents like lotions, candles, gift cards, and even a hot sandwich maker. This was also Ruth Fleming’s, our new Outpatient Case Manager, first holiday party at Masada so we hope she and everyone made warm memories together.

Masada Admin Holiday Celebration picture

On 12/13, the Masada Admin and directors greeted the season with their Holiday Celebration at the Gardena office. Kelly Asato and Trish Tindbaek hosted the festivities, and Celia Lopez helped deck the halls with ribbons and holiday-colored Hershey’s kisses. The directors and executive team enjoyed an Italian fare from Giuliano’s with lasagna, garlic bread, salad, fruit, and cookies.

Although So-Cal doesn’t get snow for the winter season, the teams let it snow with a makeshift snowball fight, making everyone laugh all the way. The merriment continued with some holiday riddles played in teams and a White Elephant gift exchange. Masada is thankful the directors were able to spend this time together, and many thanks again to all the directors for another year of great work!

SA 7 & 8 Wrap Holiday Celebration picture

SA 7 & 8 Wraparound came together for their Holiday Celebration on Wednesday, 12/14 at the Bellflower office. They started off by enjoying a nice hot meal together before starting the festivities. Their first round of festivities consisted of splitting into three teams and electing one member to become the Christmas tree while the rest of the team gets creative decorating.

Being in the holiday spirit, Brenda called her team’s inspired look “A Wrap Spirit” given that they wrapped their honorary Christmas tree in wrapping paper. For their second round of festivities, they played white elephant and enjoyed stealing gifts from each other. Lastly, they finished with enjoying some dessert as they shared upcoming holiday plans.

Happy holidays from the masada homes gardena FSP office image

The Gardena Child and Young Adult FSP team celebrated the holiday cheer with a special dinner at Bucca Di Beppo on 12/14. Everyone had the chance to relax eating chicken alfredo pasta, spicy shrimp, and calamari while sharing holiday traditions. Dinner was delightful but everyone was excited for the meals to come during the holidays with their friends and family like “recalentado” tamales and Portos. The spirit of the holidays also extended beyond the dinner party as a gift exchange was held on a separate day as well as a week of sharing small gifts in each others’ stockings for their secret Santa.

Not only is the Gardena FSP team generous with each other but also with the community. To celebrate the joy and bliss of the season, the FSP program organized an “Adopt a family” where staff and their family will be giving gifts to low income families in the FSP program. The FSP program was able to identify 21 children and youth and will ensure they have a gift to open during this holiday. Many well wishes also go to the staff from other teams who supported the last minute cause. As our FSP supervisor Esmeralda Diaz graciously said: Thank you to the FSP for being such a wonderful part of Masada! And many thanks for your continued work to meet the needs of the clients we serve. We wish you all good tidings this season with family and loved ones.

Rancho OP & TBS Holiday Celebration image

’Twas the season to be jolly for Rancho Outpatient and TBS when the two departments gathered for holiday festivities at the office on 12/15. Vanessa Fornasier and Makiko Hoichi coordinated the party with catered food from Stonefire Grill and Christmas music on the radio.

To showcase who was the jolliest of them all, there was a Holiday attire contest with first prize going to Vanessa Vazquez and second to Khai Nguyen. The merriment continued with bingo and raffles with prizes like chocolates, gift cards, phone batteries, lunch bags, dry fruit box, and comfy socks. The celebration was full of good tidings and wishes that we hope will carry through to the next year!

Gardena TBS holiday photo

Gardena TBS came together for their Holiday Celebration on Thursday, 12/15 at the Gardena office. They started off by enjoying a nice meal from Chinollo before starting the festivities.

TBS Director Cesar E. Gonzalez decided to make things interesting by playing a couple rounds of Loteria. Each round would produce two winners, the first winner would win by completing a row or column of four or by completing all four corners; the second winner would win by completing the entire card. Of course, leave it to the TBS Specialists to make the game interesting by distracting each other from paying attention to the cards being called out. In all, everyone’s laughter filled the room and made for a merry time.

Gardena outpatient and OT holiday celebration image

Gardena Outpatient and Occupational Therapy came together for their Holiday Celebration on Friday, 12/16 at the Gardena office. They started off by enjoying a catered meal from Chinollo before starting their Candy Cane Olympics.

OT Program Manager Michael Heaton came up with a series of holiday inspired games for all to enjoy. The games consisted of Candy Cane Mini Golf, Candy Cane Rappel, Candy Cane Zipline, and Bobbing for Candy canes. In a final showdown, Efrain Ibarra, SA 6, 7 & 8 Community Services Director went up against Kelly Asato, COO where Efrain was crowned the winner.

lynwood holiday celebration image

Lynwood School-Based and Wraparound came together for their Holiday Celebration on Monday, 12/19 at the new Lynwood office. They shared a fantastic Cuban meal from Tropicana as they all reconnected with each other in person after a long time of not gathering all together. After a delicious meal, they moved onto a round of White Elephant where they giggled as they opened and stole gifts from each other. They then split into two teams to have a snowball fight where everyone participated and enjoyed themselves. After their snowball fight it’s fair to say that everyone was ready to share some sweet treats as there was a chocolate station and a very festive tres leche cake.

Special shout out to SA 6, 7 & 8 Wraparound Parent Partner Supervisor, Mireya Romero for the beautiful holiday celebration decorations she put together to make the celebration more festive for everyone as the Lynwood Outpatient and Wrap staff are welcomed to their new office location!
